Importance Of A Smartphone For A Freelancer

Is a smartphone a great addition to any freelancers business? Lets take a look.

Smartphones have already generally taken over the entire cell phone market. Mostly everybody that lives in the United States owns some sort of phone that can e-mail and enables them to view social-media sites. Whether its the iPhone, Android, or Blackberry, everybody is flocking to get the latest and greatest smartphone on the market. Is it really that important for a freelancer to have one of these "phones of the future"? Yes. Plain and simple yes.

For anyone that is freelancing full-time, you should go out and purchase a smartphone. I don't care what kind it is, but get one that you can view your e-mails and social-media networks on. These are two of the biggest aspects of anybodies freelancing business. E-mail is used day in and day out to contact and respond to clients; also social-media is the number one way of marketing your services. To be able to access both of these at any time is giving you an advantage over other freelancers.

Sure it may cost a pretty penny to acquire a smart phone, but the money spent is going to turn into money earned. Being able to do everything you need your computer for, while on the road, is the biggest selling point. Some freelancers fall behind because they finally get to their computer and they have 100 unanswered e-mails. With a smart phone you are able to answer e-mails throughout the day no matter where you are.

The amount of applications available on these phones is ridiculous. There is legitimately an app for everything. If you are a Wordpress blogger then download the Wordpress app and blog anywhere. If you need help finding or spelling a word, then download the dictionary or thesaurus app. No matter what the problem you will be able to find an application that increases productivity and the amount of money you bring in every day.

Do you feel that a smart phone is a great asset to your freelancing business, or just a waste of money?
